Auto Loan Calculator
Estimate your monthly car payment from the price, down payment, trade-in, sales tax and fees.
How the car loan amount is worked out
Sales tax is usually charged on the price minus the trade-in value. Example: a $35,000 car with $5,000 down and a $3,000 trade-in, 7% sales tax on $32,000 ($2,240) and $1,200 of fees gives a loan of $30,440. At 6.9% APR for 60 months the payment is $601.31, with $5,638.80 of interest.
Choosing the term
Longer terms (72 or 84 months) lower the payment but raise the total interest — and you may owe more than the car is worth for longer. Compare terms with the quick buttons.
Paying taxes and fees upfront
Untick Include taxes and fees in the loan to pay them at signing. The loan gets smaller and so does the interest.
