Final exam formula

needed on the final = (grade you want − current grade × (1 − final weight)) ÷ final weight

Example: your current grade is 88%, the final counts for 25% and you want 90% overall. You need (90 − 88 × 0.75) ÷ 0.25 = 96% on the final.

Read the table

Below the result you see the score you need for every course grade from A to D−. “Not reachable” means even 100% on the final is not enough; “already reached” means you keep that grade even with 0%.

Check how the final is weighted

The formula assumes the final replaces the given share of the course and that your current grade covers the rest. If your syllabus drops the lowest test or lets the final replace a midterm, the real numbers can differ.
