32 Character Password Generator
Generate a random 32-character password for admin accounts, API keys and secrets.
Generated in your browser with a cryptographically secure random generator. Nothing is sent or stored.
When to use 32 characters
A 32-character random password has around 200 bits of entropy — more than the 128 bits used by strong encryption keys. Use it where nobody needs to type the value: server and database credentials, API secrets, application salts and Wi-Fi networks you share with a QR code.
Characters for technical use
- Config files and URLs — some symbols (such as quotes, # and &) need escaping. Untick Symbols for a value that works anywhere.
- Readability — tick “Avoid look-alike characters” if the value might ever be read aloud or copied by hand.
Even without symbols, 32 random letters and numbers give about 190 bits — far more than enough.
Frequently asked questions
Is a 32-character password overkill?
For accounts you log in to by hand, 16 characters is plenty. 32 characters is meant for secrets stored by software.
Can I use it as an encryption key?
It is random enough, but many systems expect keys in a specific format. Use the key generator of the software where possible.
