PIN Generator
Generate random PINs for phones, cards and locks, with common weak PINs filtered out.
Generated in your browser with a cryptographically secure random generator. Nothing is sent or stored.
Why a random PIN?
People choose PINs in predictable ways: 1234, 0000, repeated pairs like 1212, and years of birth like 1985. A small number of such PINs cover a large share of all PINs in use, so attackers try them first. A random PIN avoids those patterns.
Weak PINs this generator skips
- All the same digit — 0000, 777777
- Straight sequences — 1234, 9876, 345678
- Repeated pairs and triples — 1212, 123123
- 4-digit years from 1900 to 2099
You can switch this filter off if you need a fully uniform random number.
4 or 6 digits?
A 4-digit PIN has 10,000 possible combinations; a 6-digit PIN has 1,000,000. Where a device allows it, choose 6 digits or more. PINs are safe only because devices limit the number of attempts, so never reuse a PIN as an online password.
Frequently asked questions
How many 4-digit PINs are there?
10,000 — from 0000 to 9999.
Is a 6-digit PIN much safer than a 4-digit one?
Yes: it has 100 times more combinations, which matters when an attacker can make several guesses.
Is the PIN generated securely?
Yes. It is created in your browser with a cryptographically secure random generator and is never sent anywhere.
