Unlike Yelp, Angie’s List, YellowPages.com and other sites offering subjective consumer reviews, LocalPrice compares providers based on the objective criteria that matter most to consumers making a purchase decision. For instance, a consumer considering LASIK surgery can find consumer reviews on many sites, but only LocalPrice provides comparisons of surgeons based on price, number of procedures performed, whether he’s fellowship trained, the method & equipment used, whether he’ll be involved in pre/post operative exams, and the details of the re-treatment warranty. LocalPrice was founded in Atlanta in 2008 and currently covers more than 20 categories of services. In January of 2010, LocalPrice began a national expansion by allowing any business in any of these categories in any major city to enroll and list for free.
